Where expert capacity actually goes

Engineering Workforce Analytics

Engineering Workforce Analytics measures how expert capacity is consumed across project workflows: which decisions absorb senior review time, where rework repeats, and which stages depend on a single qualified approver. It reports on workflow stages and roles, not on individual keystroke surveillance.

Workforce Analytics in an operating review

The scarce resource

Senior engineering judgement is the constraint, not headcount.

Industrial organisations rarely lack documents; they lack qualified attention. Analytics that show where senior review time is consumed make capacity planning an evidence-based discussion instead of an argument.

Aggregation first

Analytics report on work, not on people.

Measurement is attached to workflow stages, document classes and approval roles. Rolled-up views answer capacity questions without turning the platform into individual surveillance.

Rework as signal

Repeated correction is the most useful metric available.

When the same deviation is corrected repeatedly, it identifies a specification gap, a vendor pattern or a training need. That signal also becomes the strongest candidate for automation.

Operating matrix

Evidence moves through explicit controls.

The matrix separates source evidence, intelligence work, governing authority and the resulting artifact.

Controlled sequence

From input to accountable outcome.

Each transfer preserves context, ownership and the human gate required before consequential action.

Design boundary

What the system will not pretend to be.

Credibility begins where automation stops and accountable professional judgment starts.

01

Not employee surveillance

The platform does not perform keystroke logging, screen recording or covert individual monitoring.

02

Not a performance verdict

Analytics describe workflow load and rework; they do not rank individuals or drive automated appraisal.

03

Not deployed measurement

These analytics are in design and will be validated in the first procurement pilot.

Questions answered

Precise answers for technical evaluation.

Open a question to inspect the operating position, not a marketing promise.

01Is this employee monitoring software?

No. It measures workflow stages, document classes and approval roles at aggregate level. There is no keystroke logging, no screen recording and no covert individual tracking.

02What is the most valuable metric?

Repeated correction. When experts correct the same deviation many times, it identifies a specification gap and a clear automation candidate.

03Can the analytics be used for appraisal?

That is explicitly outside the design intent. Reporting defaults to role-level rollups so capacity can be planned without individual scoring.
